The Column is distributed in the Sonoma Index-Tribune and through direct mail to our members.

Local musicians Laurence Campling and Mark Dennis present an atmospheric evening of (mostly) acoustic music. They delight in uncovering and rearranging lost gems by an eclectic array of artists from Bob Dylan to Brit Pop supergroup Oasis, and throw their original compositions into the mix as well.

The Art Of Fire:
An Evening With Japanese Master Ceramicist Masakazu Kusakabe

Thursday, August 30

Japanese ceramic artist Masakazu Kusakabe will join Suisan-based artist Marc Lancet, co-authors of Japanese Wood-Fired Ceramics for an evening of wine and art. Visually stunning demonstrations and personal antidotes about their decade-long partnership building and making art using wood-fire kilns will be shared.  The artists will examine the art of making traditional Japanese tea ware and contemporary approaches to ceramic art through discussion and hands-on demonstrations in an intimate setting meant to educate and inspire both the uninitiated and experienced alike.

$20 includes a wine and cheese reception ($18 for SCC Members)
