As we move toward winter we are planting cover crops, mulching garlic beds and making compost! Come garden with us and learn while doing!

Fall/ Winter Volunteer Days Schedule:

Wednesdays 10am – noon Saturdays 10am – 1pm

In late September, sixteen volunteers from Fireman’s Fund came to lend a hand for a day
at the Garden Park. We harvested apples and worked on pathways. This is the second year I have had the privelidge to work with this wonderful group!

THANKS as well to the freshmen of Justin-Siena High School, who come regularly to the Garden Park. As part of their environmental service learning project, they are volunteering in their communities to contribute to the well being of plants, animals and people. They’re enthusiasm and hard work are definitely appreciated!

Also BIG THANKS to the college student volunteers from Sonoma State University and Project Earth program, (part of J.U.M.P. which stands for Join Us In Making Progress! ) who came to spend a day working at the garden in late October. They worked with staff gardener, Marlie Wesner, on fertilizing and mulching the many fruit trees at the garden.

If you know of a group who would like to volunteer, WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU! Please call or email me and I will coordinate it!

As always, I want to recognize and thank our staff gardeners, Seth Dolinsky and Marlie Wesner!
